Outside of visiting your favorite dentist the events scene in the city of Leawood is pretty vibrant with lots of interesting and fun festivals and things to do in Leawood all year round. In as much as most events tend to be common to other cities, there are some that are unique to Leawood. Below are just but a few of these notable events that you could consider checking out the next time you pay Leawood a visit.

The Annual Pooch Paint Event. Every year, the Leawood’s Art Council presents the Leawood’s Annual Pooch Event. The event only lasts a couple of hours say from around 9 a.m. to noon. There is a designated painting area that welcomes everyone to dig deep into their creative side and engage in some serious painting action, specifically your four-legged family members. All the paints are washable and more importantly, non-toxic.

Paint and all other necessary supplies will be provided for and there is someone who will assist your dog to create their piece using their paw. Your furry buddy is welcome to choose up to4 four of his or her favorite colors. The fee is $10 per painting and you can carry your dog’s painting home as a wonderful souvenir. All the proceeds from the event straight to the Leawood Stage Company to help in purchasing the necessary agility equipment for the Leawoof Dog Park.

A taste of Leewood. Head down to Leawood for the biggest celebration of fun, food and drinks. A Taste of Leewood has been in existence for over 20 years and ach year sees this event grow bigger and way much better! The upscale food festival setting showcases more than two dozen of the region’s well-reputed restaurants and the ‘package’ is inclusive of exciting activities and live music. Satisfy all those cravings with unlimited delicious bites made in such innovative culinary expertise just as you like them. It is advisable to get your tickets in advance as more often than not; the tickets usually sell out.

The Fourth of July Fireworks; Leewood Style. Every year in Kansas, the fourth of July is celebrated in a manner so unique. It seems like the norm is to have each city engage their own kind of fireworks display. Leewood park becomes home to many traditional as well as modern family friendly festivities. Food vendors are available as from 6.30 and by 7.30 the music is ready to kick off in preparation for the stunning and eagerly anticipated fireworks display.
