Dr. Gordon’s Unique Implant Dentistry Approach

Dr. Gordon uses his professional capabilities and experience to diagnose your oral health condition during a dental exam using visual, mechanical, and radiographic techniques to analyze the condition of your teeth. Our implant dentist will work with you to create a customized treatment plan. He will make sure to keep you well-informed throughout your entire treatment so that you will always know what to expect. Using an advanced approach and a combination of cosmetic dentistry and restorative techniques, Dr. Gordon will have you smiling again in no time! The day of dental implant surgery, your dental implant post, which is a screw made of titanium, will be surgically placed in the jawbone.

This replaces the tooth root and ensures that your restoration is stable. You will be sent home with a provisional, so you will not go without a tooth, and so your implant can heal with the bone. Following this healing period, our dentist will place the dental implant restoration, or replacement tooth, which fits on top of the implant post. Depending on which teeth are missing and your personal dental needs, your implant restoration might be a dental crown, dental bridge, complete denture, or partial denture. Each implant restoration is custom made to fit your smile comfortably and aesthetically. Click the info-graph for an in-depth look into how Dental Implants are placed.

Sedation dentistry for soothing treatment

If you suffer from dental anxiety, if you have had negative experiences at the dentist in the past, or if you simply feel nervous about your treatment, sedation dentistry can help you feel more at ease. Sedation dentistry is also a good choice for patients who have difficulty getting numb or who have an extremely sensitive gag reflex. Dr. Gordon and our highly trained team can administer IV sedation to help you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire process.

Dental Implant FAQs

Dental implants are the only tooth replacement option that mimic the look, feel and function of your natural teeth. Implants can restore 99% of function, allowing you to eat anything you want while looking completely natural and beautiful. With proper oral care and routine dental hygiene appointments, you can expect your implants to last the rest of your life.

Implants placed by our doctor have a 95% success rate. With proper care of the implant and your oral health, they can successfully last your lifetime.

The cost of dental implants varies from patient to patient depending on their needs. During your consultation we will take into consideration the number of teeth that need to be replaced, how much bone is available or if we will need to perform a bone graft or sinus lift prior to surgery, any tooth extractions, and if any infection is present.

It is possible to replace single missing teeth, multiple missing teeth and even a full mouth lacking teeth. Multiple teeth in an area that are missing can be restored with an implant supported bridge, so you don’t need an individual dental implant for each missing tooth. For full-arch tooth loss we can place as little as two implants that support an entire denture or bridge, giving you a secure fit.

Yes! We are a full-service implant dentist office. Dr. Gordon puts a heavy emphasis on cosmetic dentistry and can create a unique, beautiful dental crown to restore your dental implant. We always start with the end in mind (what your tooth will look like), so we ensure proper space is allowed for your tooth and it blends in seamlessly with your smile.

If you have one, many or a full arch of missing teeth you are likely a candidate for implants. You should be in good overall health and be free of any gum disease or infection. You may require bone grafting treatment to ensure proper security of your implant prior to surgery.

Even if you have been told you don’t have enough bone to support dental implants, you may still be a candidate. Through bone grafting or sinus lift procedures we can rebuild bone in your jaw so you can get any number of implants placed.

This is a common misconception we often hear. Having dental implants placed is generally not painful and actually feels similar to having a tooth pulled. In fact, many of our patients say they hardly felt anything at all! With sedation, this is commonly reported to feel like a dull pressure at the site of implant surgery.

Using 3D technology, we first take detailed images of your mouth which tells us exactly where the nerves are located and where the best possible location to place your implant(s) is. With this information we then create a computer guide and use it during surgery to precisely place your implant(s) in the jaw bone for the best results. Once healed, your dental implant will be restored with a lifelike and durable crown to blend into your smile.

In most cases we can remove a tooth, or multiple teeth, and place a dental implant the same day.

When placing implants, we are particular when it comes to placing them under the right conditions and in the precise location. We see very little complications after implants are placed by us. If you experience any complications such as pain, bleeding or you can see any part of the implant below the gumline, you may require simple treatment for infection or may need to have the implant replaced. We can evaluate dental implants placed by other doctors as well.

When placed by an experienced dentist and cared for properly, dental implants can last your lifetime. The crown or restoration piece may need to be replaced due to normal wear and tear, but the titanium screw should last many years.

Your dental implants can be cleaned like your normal teeth. We recommend brushing twice a day and flossing daily, and maintaining regular cleanings with your general dentist.
